Connecticut National Guard Medical Company To Deploy To Southwest Asia

HARTFORD, Conn., – Maj. Gen. Thaddeus J. Martin, the Adjutant General and Commander of the Connecticut National Guard, announced on Friday that approximately 80 Soldiers from the 142nd Medical Company of Naugatuck will deploy to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.  A formal send-off ceremony will be held on Saturday, Nov. 5, 11:00 a.m., at the William A. O’Neill Armory in Hartford.

The 142nd Medical Company with its compliment of doctors and nurses can provide medical evacuation, laboratory, x-ray and dental services.  This is the first deployment for the 142nd Medical Company in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.  The Connecticut National Guard has approximately 120 Soldiers and Airmen deployed in support of the Global War on Terror.
