State police have found the body of 68-year-old Robert Masci. The East Haddam resident was reported missing Tuesday and an extensive search was conducted. Police said at the time of Masci’s disappearance that he suffered from dementia.
According to police, troopers using trained K-9 teams found Masci’s body around 11 a.m. Saturday in a wooded area off Deer Run Road in East Haddam. The body was positively identified by Masci’s family.
The body was transported to the Office of the Chief State’s Medical Examiner for an autopsy, but state police say there does not appear to be a criminal aspect to the death.
