Teen Charged With Fake 911 Call That Led To Crash

The call was fake,  but the results were real.

A teenager is under arrest after using a friend’s cellular telephone to call 9-1-1,   saying, “Help, fire”  and hanging up.  Authorities  traced the call to an address on Driftwood Lane in Shelton and sent emergency equipment to the scene . Police say a fire truck responding to the bogus call was involved in a crash with two other vehicles,  resulting in injuries to one person.

The teen is charged with falsely reporting an incident, and mis-use of the 911 system.
