BLOOMFIELD, Conn. (AP) _ Former Connecticut Gov. M. Jodi Rell has been appointed to the board of directors of Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation Inc., which breeds and trains guide dogs for the blind.
Fidelco says Rell, who left office in January after serving nearly seven years in office, has been a long-time supporter of the foundation. She served as honorary chairwoman of its 50th anniversary celebration last year. Eliot D. Russman, chief executive, said the former Republican governor’s love of dogs is a plus.
Fidelco said that one of its dogs named Marshall was the Rell family pet for more than a decade and lived in the executive residence in Hartford.
