One Dead After Car Goes Into Reservoir

MANCHESTER, Conn. (AP) _ Authorities are investigating the death of a man who became trapped in a vehicle that went off a road in Manchester and drove into a reservoir.

Police and fire officials say the man’s body was recovered early Sunday from the car in the Globe Hollow Reservoir, where it went into the water around 5 a.m. A second man in the car was able to escape and was taken to St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford.

Officials did not release the men’s names later Sunday, but say they are both in their 20s.

The incident remained under investigation and further details about the surviving man’s condition were not immediately available.
