Man In Custody After Two-Hour Chase By Police

MILFORD, Conn. (AP) _ A man is in custody after fleeing Milford police investigating a possible burglary, and leading the officers on a two-hour chase through marshland.

Milford police spokesman Jeffrey Nielsen tells the New Haven Register (http://bit.ly/n4b3DQ) the 22-year-old was restrained by a police dog when he refused to surrender.

The chase began Friday afternoon with the report of a burglary to a motor home parked at a house on Pond Point Avenue. Nielsen said the officers found the man in the motor home, but he escaped through the roof hatch. They pursued because they believed he was armed, and had a serious medical condition.

The man was evaluated at a hospital. Police say he wasn’t injured.

Police said nothing was missing from the motor home and no weapon has been found.
