Armed Men Hold Up Cromwell Bank; Reward Offered

Cromwell police say an $11,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of three men involved in a bank robbery in Cromwell.

Police say three armed men wearing guns and masks entered the Webster Bank on Route 372 in Cromwell just before 10 a.m.,   forced employees and customers to the floor,  and demanded access to the vault.  They made off with an undisclosed amount of money in a blue Dodge Caravan, heading west on Route 372.

The vehicle,  was found a short time later, abandoned behind a local motel,  its engine still running.  It turned out to have been reported stolen in New Haven.

Police ask anyone with any information about the holdup to call Detective Parsons of the Cromwell Police Department at (860) 635-2256.
