STORRS, Conn. (AP) _ University of Connecticut President Susan Herbst says a decision by TCU to forego entry into the Big East would not change UConn’s position as it jockeys for position in the evolving college landscape.
Herbst has been working with the Big East on expansion, but the school also has expressed an interest in joining the  Atlantic Coast Conference should it expand to 16 teams.

TCU was expected to join the Big East in 2012 before leaders of the Big 12 voted unanimously Thursday to invite the Horned Frogs into that conference.

“Nothing changes much for us,” Herbst told The Associated Press in an email. “The Big East is talking with great
institutions and we’ll be very competitive. And UConn is deeply involved in the larger national dialogue.”
