Four Arrested in CVS Drug Thefts

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) _ Federal drug agents have charged four former CVS pharmacy employees with stealing and selling painkillers and other prescription medications from store inventories.

The pharmacy technicians worked at CVS stores in East Hartford, Litchfield, North Haven and Old Saybrook. U.S. Attorney David Fein says they were charged as part of an operation against illegal distribution of prescription drugs.

Details of the alleged offenses remained under seal in federal court late Tuesday.

A spokesman for CVS says the pharmacy chain is cooperating with authorities and that it no longer employs the four technicians
