Plane Crashes In Ridgefield Yard

A man described as an experienced pilot suffered serious,  but non-life-threatening injuries when his plane crashed in Ridgefield Saturday afternoon,  shortly after takeoff from the Danbury Airport.

No one on the ground was hurt.

A resident of Briar Ridge Road heard the crash and pulled the pilot– who was conscious– out of the upside-down aircraft. Authorities say the plane remains in the yard, upside down, while they clean up a fuel leak.
