Fatal Stabbing in Bridgeport

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) _ Bridgeport police say they charged a city man with murder after he stabbed his best friend to death.

Twenty-three-year-old Bjorn Williams is expected to be arraigned in Bridgeport Superior Court on Friday in connection with the killing of 22-year-old Travis “Secret” Brown.

Police say Williams and Brown got into an argument Thursday evening at the corner of Newfield Avenue and Adams Street in the city’s East End, and Williams allegedly stabbed Brown once in his chest. Witnesses said Brown collapsed on a sidewalk and Williams ran away, but police caught him a short distance away.

Brown was Bridgeport’s 14th homicide victim of the year. The subject of the argument hasn’t been disclosed.

Williams was held overnight on bail. It’s not clear if he has a lawyer.
