HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) – Officials at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford say they’ve received a $10 million gift that will be designated for patient care and acquiring new technology.

Hospital executives announced the gift Thursday, saying it was donated by a family that wishes to remain anonymous.

St. Francis, which is the largest Catholic hospital in New England, has received millions of dollars in anonymous donations in recent years. One donor provided $2.5 million last year, while two others gave $12.5 million and $6 million in 2008. The $12.5 million gift was the largest donation in the 617-bed hospital’s history.

Officials say the family that gave the most recent gift was grateful for the care provided by the hospital.

You mean $10 million from one of those despised “rich” people who get all the loopholes and don’t pay their fair share? It’s amazing how much denigration is put upon the wealthy yet they still open their hearts and wallets to show their gratitude! God bless them.
