Norwich Police have made an arrest in the murder of Johnny Amy on May 20, 2011. Tuesday, Sept. 20, around 3:30 p.m., William Long, 34, was arrested by police after being arrested Monday, Sept. 19, in Westerly, R.I. He was charged with murder and attempted murder.
Long was arrested by Westerly Police after information was obtained that he frequented the Westerly area. Long was located patronizing a business in Westerly when he was taken into custody without incident. He was arraigned Tuesday at Washington County Courthouse in Rhode Island where he waived extradition and was taken into custody on the strength of a valid arrest warrant.
He’s being held on $1,000,000 bond pending arraignment before Norwich Superior Court later today.
