Pedestrian Struck, Killed In Waterbury

Waterbury Police say a city man has died after he stumbled out of the woods onto Meriden Road and directly into the path of a car early Thursday morning.

Police say Bobby Jordan, 31, was struck around 2 a.m. at Pierpont Road. He may have been walking to a nearby store, said authorities. Jordan was taken by ambulance to St. Mary’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police identify the driver of the car as Philip Buonocore, 63, of Wolcott.

The crash remains under investigation. No charges have been filed. Police say they are investigating whether Jordan was intoxicated.
