The annual rankings from the U.S. News and World Report college ratings put the University of Connecticut in the top twenty in national public research universities – up from 27th last year. The survey looked at 172 national public institutions.
UConn was ranked the best public university in New England for the 13th year in a row.
Among the “national universities category,” Yale ranked third, behind Harvard and Princeton, which tied for first place.
Wesleyan ranked twelfth in the “National Liberal Arts College” rankings, and Connecticut College and Trinity College tied for 37th in that category.
Fairfield University ranked second in the North Region in the Regional University Rankings. Quinnipiac was eleventh in that category. The Coast Guard Academy was tops in the North Region in the National Colleges North listing.
