Heroin, Cocaine Ring Snagged By Feds Moving Operation Out Of Connecticut

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) _ A 37-year-old Rhode Island man has been arrested by federal authorities who say they have broken up a heroin and cocaine distribution ring that was in the process of moving from Connecticut.

Andres Jiminez of Woonsocket was ordered detained Tuesday after an appearance in U.S. District Court in Providence on federal drug charges.

The federal Drug Enforcement Administration and local authorities say they seized more than 7 kilograms of heroin and more than a kilogram of cocaine Friday from a commercial storage facility rented by Jiminez in Pawtucket.

According to court documents, authorities followed another suspect to the storage unit from New Haven, Conn. They say that man person feared he was being watched by authorities in Connecticut was moving the drugs to Rhode Island.
