Death of Bristol Canoeist 2nd Linked to Irene

The body of a man who went canoeing in flood waters in Bristol has been recovered.

Police say body of 46-year-old Shane Seaver of Bristol washed ashore in the Pequabuck River in Forestville.

Police say Seaver and another man went canoeing down East Main Street in the flood waters left by Irene on Sunday afternoon.

The canoe capsized.  The  other man was able to swim to shore.

Seaver’s death is the second in the state linked to the storm.

Police say on person died early Sunday and another was severely injured in a fire at a house in Prospect that was apparently caused by downed power lines.
