Plainville Police Sergeant Killed In Farmington Crash

A Plainville police sergeant was killed Tuesday night in a crash on New Britain Avenue in Farmington.

Police say Sergeant Timothy Mullaney, 44, of Bristol was pronounced dead at Hartford Hospital after the 1974 Chevrolet he was driving slammed into a tree in front of a commercial building at 1690 New Britain Avenue. Sergeant Mullaney was off-duty at the time of the crash.

The crash occurred shortly before 9 p.m. Police ask anyone who witnessed the crash to call Sergeant Paul Walzak at 860-675-2400.
