Unrelated Standoffs End In Enfield, Rocky Hill

ROCKY HILL, Conn. (AP) _ Unrelated police standoffs in Rocky Hill and Enfield have ended without violence.

Rocky Hill police say a man took three people hostage, threatened their lives and held police at bay for several hours in an apartment on Robbins Lane before being taken into custody at about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday. The man’s name hasn’t been released, and the motive isn’t clear. Charges are pending.

The Enfield standoff also ended early Tuesday morning after more than five hours. People in a Glendale Road home heard someone in their basement and called police.

Authorities entered the home after hours of trying to talk with the suspect and found him in the basement. Police arrested 33-year-old Myquawn Maurice Hutchins, who was wanted by police in several towns. He was held on $1 million bail.
