HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) – A Connecticut man who authorities say confessed to hiding cameras that recorded men using public restrooms has been arraigned on 12 felony voyeurism charges.

The Hartford Courant reports that 51-year-old Paul Deveau didn’t say anything Thursday during his first appearance in Hartford Superior Court since being arrested last week. His case was continued to Sept. 12.

The Hartford resident was arrested after a customer found a sound-activated video camera in a West Hartford Starbucks bathroom. Police say video from the camera shows Deveau setting it up.

Authorities say Deveau also told them he put cameras in three other public restrooms in West Hartford, Bloomfield and Hebron.

There’s no phone listing for Deveau, and his lawyer didn’t immediately return a message Thursday. Deveau is free on $100,000 bail.
