NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) _ A court appearance for a Connecticut man awaiting trial in a series of rapes and other attacks along the East Coast has been put off.
Aaron Thomas was scheduled to appear Monday in New Haven Superior Court. The case against him was continued, but court officials have not announced a date, if one has been set.
Thomas has been held since his March 4 arrest on charges of rape and other offenses in New Haven.
Authorities say DNA confirms he is responsible for rapes and other attacks on 17 women from Virginia to Connecticut. He is charged with three rapes in Virginia and one in Connecticut.
Thomas has pleaded not guilty in Connecticut.
Authorities say DNA evidence may link him to another sexual assault in Maryland and they plan to file charges if a match is confirmed.
