The U.S. Postal Service is considering closing 15 Connecticut locations, including three in Hartford as it deals with a multi-billion dollar deficit.

The Postal Service is losing money because of a decreased demand for services as more and more people are using online bill payments and the cost of keeping so many local post offices open is cost prohibitive.

The Hartford post offices being considered for closure are in the Blue Hills neighborhood and at Unity Plaza.  The third location is at Ann Street downtown.

There will be a 60-day comment period to allow the public to have its say.
