More mosquitoes trapped in Connecticut have tested positive for the West Nile virus. The State Mosquito Management program says mosquitos trapped in Greenwich and Bridgeport in mid-July bring the number of towns where mosquitoes carrying the virus have been found to three. Positive results also have been found in mosquitoes trapped in Orange.
No human cases have been confirmed this summer
Dr. Theodore Andreadis says there’s been a significant increase in the number of mosquitoes trapped throughout the region, and says experts expect a buildup of virus after the recent hot weather.
