Newington Police Department Vandalized

NEWINGTON, Conn. (AP) – Newington police are looking for a pair of vandals they say struck the police department.

Police tell the New Britain Herald they have surveillance video showing two young males throwing a cinder block through the window of police sport utility vehicle outside that was parked outside the police station on Saturday night.

They say the vandals also tossed a license plate from a police vehicle into the bushes, and put out a cigarette on sign shaped like a badge that hangs on the outside of the building.

Police say the vandalism occurred Saturday night at about 10 p.m., immediately after the town’s annual fireworks display and festival.
