Ex Granby Police Captain Guilty In Child Porn Case

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) _ A former Granby police captain who authorities say was caught with more than 26,000 images and videos of child pornography on his personal and work computers has pleaded guilty and faces five to 20 years in prison.

David Bourque pleaded guilty to one count of receipt and distribution of child pornography Thursday in federal court in Hartford. Sentencing was set for Oct. 11.

The 51-year-old Bourque was arrested in April, after a state trooper checking the Internet downloaded child porn images from an account in a file-sharing program maintained by Bourque.

Prosecutors say the images found on Bourque’s computers showed the sexual abuse of young boys, including infants and toddlers.

Bourque’s lawyer, Richard Brown, says his client is accepting responsibility for his actions and seeking help for mental health problems.
