PLAINVILLE, Conn. (AP) _ Investigators say Plainville police officers who opened fire during a child pornography arrest outside a movie theater shot a fellow police officer in the arm.
Police say the suspect was reaching for his waistband Saturday morning when Sgt. Timothy Mullaney and Cpl. Jon Eno opened fire.
Officer Clifford J. Roper was struck by one of their bullets in the forearm as he arrived on the scene and a fourth officer, David Slater, was hurt by flying glass.
Police say 45-year-old Eric Gothberg is being held on charges of third-degree possession of child pornography. He was shot in the foot and did not have any weapons.
The state’s major crime squad is investigating the shooting.
