Skeletal Remains Found At Construction Site

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) _ Construction workers building an addition to the Yale-New Haven Hospital emergency room have found skeletal remains while excavating the site.

State Archaeologist Nicholas Bellantoni said Monday the discovery appears to involve two skeletons that may have come from an abandoned cemetery associated with a church. He said a forensic exam would be done to try to identify the remains and then rebury them in a historic cemetery.

Bellantoni said such discoveries are not unusual. He said construction would be halted in that immediate area at least for a day.
