Canton Police Seize Dozens Of Dogs From Apartment

Canton Police have charged a local woman with animal cruelty after they allegedly found around 40 dogs and four cats in her Center Street apartment Tuesday. Police say most of the animals in the home of 28-year-old Jessica Yazmer were dehydrated and malnourished.

Authorities say they found feces and trash around the home.

The animals have been seized– some placed in private kennels around town because there are simply so many of them. Authorities say all of the dogs and cats are expected to survive. The investigation continues and police aren’t ruling out additional charges.
