CL&P Working To Restore Power In Southbury Area

Problems with transmission lines at two substations caused thousands of power outages in the western part of Connecticut Saturday morning, said Connecticut Light and Power.

Just before 8 a.m., more than 22,000 homes and businesses were without electricity, according to the utility’s website, including almost the entire town of Southbury.

Crews were working to restore electricity, and had trimmed the number of outages to around 700 by 9 a.m.
