State Police Seek Source of Bolt Which Killed Passenger

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) _ Connecticut state police say they are looking for the source of a 3-1/2 inch-long bolt that flew through the windshield of a car on Interstate 95 and killed a Waterbury woman.

Police said Tuesday the bolt may have broken off a dump truck that was traveling in the opposite direction.

Forty-year-old Sara Betancourt was killed Saturday afternoon as she was riding in the right front passenger seat of a sport utility vehicle going south on the highway in Greenwich.

Authorities are asking anyone who witnessed the accident or knows about the vehicle that lost the bolt to contact state police.
