SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) _ A suspect in the fatal stabbing of a Connecticut father of four in Springfield last month has turned himself in.
Police say Luis Manuel Cintron was accompanied by his lawyer when surrendered at police headquarters at 9 a.m. on Monday.
He was arrested and charged with murder in connection with the May 21 stabbing of 32-year-old Carlos Beslanga of Newington, Conn.
Beslanga was stabbed in front of two of his children as he urinated in an alley between two houses. Authorities allege Cintron lived in one of the homes and took offense. An altercation started and Beslanga was stabbed.
Beslanga, his fiancee and their children were in Springfield visiting relatives.
Cintron is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Springfield District Court.
