Dean Stepping Down at UConn Health Center

One day after starting her new job as University of Connecticut President,  Susan Herbst has announced a change in leadershiop at the UConn Health Center.

A letter from the school says effective the first of next month, Dr. Cato Laurencin will step down as Vice President and Dean of the Health Center and will focus on his work as Chief Executive Officer of the Connecticut Instittue for Clinical and Translational Science and Director of the Institute for Regenerative Engineering.   He will continue to conduct orthopedic surgery and will hold the “Albert and Wilda Van Dusen Distinguished Chair in Orthopaedic Surgery,

President Herbst praised Dr, Laurencin’s work to bring about the “Bioscience Connecticut” project at the Health Center,  which recently passed the General Assembly.
