Gov. Malloy is kicking off a summer tourism campaign, announcing a new public-private partnership between Connecticut’s tourism office and the state’s tourist attractions and businesses.
Malloy and Kip Bergstrom, executive director of the Commission on Culture and Tourism, are scheduled to unveil the Quick-Start campaign on Monday at the Connecticut Science Center in Hartford.
Malloy’s office says the campaign will provide funding to allow the tourism office to market the state’s attractions, events and lodging ahead of the busy summer season.
When Malloy announced Bergstom’s appointment in March, he said the state had lost ground by not spending money last year on tourism promotion because of budget constraints. Malloy also said
that he wanted the state to begin running TV ads possibly in late April or March.
