Legislative Session Concludes

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) _ Gov. Dannel P. Malloy says he wants Connecticut lawmakers to return to Hartford in the fall for a special legislative session that will focus on creating more jobs.

The Democratic governor made the announcement early Thursday, minutes after the 2011 regular legislative session adjourned.

Malloy said he’s also going on another listening tour. This time, he’s visiting the business community with his economic development commissioner, to “listen to and share out ideas” about ways state government can help in job creation.

Malloy held a town hall-style tour of the state earlier this year to receive input on his new budget.

Malloy told a joint session of the House and Senate they should feel good about what they did during this past session, but there is much more work ahead.
