The National Weather Service says it is still evaluating Wednesday’s tornadoes in Western and Central Massachusetts. But a preliminary statement from the weather service indicates the storm that passed from Westfield through Springfield to Monson and beyond will be rated “EF-3” or higher on the “Enhanced Fugita Damage Classification Scale, considered a “strong” storm on the intensity rating, which runs from zero to five.
