Ultralight Plane Down In East Windsor

EAST WINDSOR, Conn. (AP) – Officials say a pilot received minor injuries when he crashed his ultralight plane into a tree while trying to make an emergency landing in East Windsor.

Police say the man told emergency crews that the power in his plane went out shortly after he took off from the Skylark Airpark on Wednesday afternoon.

He collided with a tree near Newberry Road while trying to land, and was caught inside about 50 feet above ground until he could be rescued and checked by medics at the scene.

The pilot’s name was not immediately released Tuesday.
