UConn-Arkansas In Finale Of Big East-SEC Challenge In December
The National Champion UConn Huskies will host Arkansas on Saturday December,3rd on the final day of the BIG EAST/SEC Challenge. It is one of 12 games between two of the premier conferences in men’s basketball.
There are four games on Thursday,December 1st, Friday the 2nd and Saturday, the 3rd. The challenge involves all 12 teams in the SEC and 12 of the 16 in the BIG EAST with Notre Dame, Marquette,South Florida and Villanova not being involved.
It’s the first time that the event has had 12 games, the previous years involved just four games.
UConn participated in December of 2009, losing to Kentucky at Madison Square Garden.
Arkansas was 18-13 this past season and 7-9 in the SEC and hired former Missouri coach Mike Anderson as it’s new head coach after the 2010 season.
The Huskies and Razorbacks have played twice with UConn winning both games including a 77-68 victory in the opening round of the 2005 Maui Invitational.
The game will be played at either Gampel Pavillion or the XL Center
