Wethersfield DMV Closed Until 1 P.M.

The Department of Motor Vehicles branches in Wethersfield and Norwalk will be temporarily closed so workers can be trained for a new identity protection program for residents renewing their driver’s licenses and state identification cards.

The DMV’s main office in Wethersfield will be closed today from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., while the Norwalk office will be closed on Friday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Workers will be trained for the SelectCT ID program, which begins in October. The initiative offers verified identity protection to people renewing driver licenses and DMV-issued identification cards.

Residents renewing their licenses or ID cards will be asked if they want to show original identity documents to establish a record of their identity with the DMV as well as for federal identification purposes.
