Man Shot Dead At West Haven Deli

WEST HAVEN, Conn. (AP) – A 22-year-old worker at a West Haven deli has been found shot to death behind the store’s counter.

The New Haven Register reports that Bilal Tinawi  had worked at the Post Road Deli for four years, since emigrating from Syria.

Police say they found the worker after responding Monday to multiple calls that someone had entered the deli with a shotgun just after 8:20 a.m.

There have been no arrests, but police say their suspect is a man in his 20s, about 6-feet tall and weighing about 220 pounds.

Police say the motive for the shooting is not clear. They were investigating to determine if anything was stolen.
