Gov. Malloy’s nominees to run two state agencies that handle gambling matters and the developmentally disabled are facing legislative confirmation.
Terrance Macy, the acting commissioner of the Department of Development Services, is expected to appear before lawmakers at a legislative hearing on Friday. Kenneth Flatto, the acting executive director of the Division of Special Revenue, is also scheduled to appear.
DDS provides services for people with intellectual and other disabilities. It’s among the largest state agencies, with an annual budget of nearly $1 billion. Macy is considered a veteran in the field serving the developmentally disabled.
Flatto has been the first selectman of Fairfield and has 30 years of experience as a financial and accounting manager. The Division of Special Revenue regulates gambling in the state.
