Teen Charged With Cemetery Stabbing

MILFORD, Conn. (AP) _ Police have charged a 17-year-old girl with stabbing a 56-year-old man at Milford Cemetery earlier this month.

Authorities say the man was living in a tent on cemetery property when the teenager approached him and began a brief conversation on April 7.

She left, but returned to the tent a second time, this time allegedly stabbing the man multiple times. He was treated at a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries to his face, hand and leg.

Police did not say what sparked the stabbing.

The girl was arrested Monday and charged with first-degree assault, second-degree reckless endangerment and third-degree criminal mischief. She is free on $25,000 bond.

No names were released.
