Body Found In Car In Candlewood Lake

BROOKFIELD, Conn. (AP) – Brookfield police say they have found a woman’s body in a car after it was pulled out of Candlewood Lake.

A worker at a local marina spotted the car just beneath Candlewood Lake’s surface early Tuesday and contacted police.

Emergency crews were able to pull the four-door Ford sedan from the water, but found the woman dead inside. Her name was not released.

Maj. Jay Purcell told the News-Times of Danbury that “nothing overly suspicious” could be immediately determined about the death, which remained under investigation later Tuesday.
