Vernon Police Say Customer Scammed Businesses

Vernon police are trying to identify a man they say scammed three businesses on Hyde Avenue.  Police say in each case, he made a purchase with a large-denomination bill,  got his change and started to walk away.  He then turned back, claiming he had not received the correct change,  convincing the clerk to give him more money.

Vernon police say anyone who knows the suspect should call Officer Christopher Pryputniewicz, (860) 872-9126, ext. 239.
