Kindergarten Official On Leave After Sexual Assault Charge
NEW LONDON, Conn. (AP) _ The assistant director of a kindergarten in Waterford has been arrested on a sexual assault charge related to alleged misconduct with a minor that took place a decade ago.
State police say 35-year-old Allison Robinson of New London surrendered Friday on a charge of second degree sexual assault and was released on $50,000 bond. They say the alleged assault took place in East Lyme.
The New London Day reports that Robinson was placed on unpaid administrative leave from her job at the Friendship School on Wednesday after her employer learned of the police investigation.
A phone number listed for Robinson was not in service. The school said nobody was available to comment.
Robinson is scheduled to appear in New London Superior Court on Tuesday.
