UConn’s Kemba Walker To Throw First Pitch At Yankee Stadium

From the hardwood to the diamond.  UConn basketball star Kemba Walker has been asked to throw out the first pitch when the Yankees take on the Baltimore Orioles tonight at Yankee Stadium.

Walker, who led UConn to its third national championship with a 53-41 win over Butler last week, says he’s a little nervous about appearing at Yankee Stadium.

Walker says he’s been practicing. His coach, Jim Calhoun _ a Red Sox fan _ threw out the first pitch at Fenway Park during a game between the Yankees and Red Sox on Saturday.

Walker grew up a Yankees fan in the Bronx.  He announced Tuesday that he would be entering this year’s NBA draft.
