Charl Schwartzel needs to make room in his closet for a green jacket.
The 26-year-old South African closed with a 6-under-par 66 to win the Masters by two shots over Jason Day and Adam Scott.
Schwartzel did it with birdies on the final four holes to breakup a six-way logjam with Day, Scott, Tiger Woods, Geoff Ogilvy and Luke Donald.
Schwartzel was in a four-way tie for second after the third round, four shots off the lead. He finished 14-under in winning his first major championship.
He’s the fourth straight first-time major champion. He joins PGA champion Martin Kaymer, Louis Oosthuizen at the British and U.S. Open champ Graeme McDowell in that category.
