Malloy Supports Busway Completion

Governor Dannel Malloy says after meeting with supporters and opponents of the New Britain-to-Hartford Busway, he’s decided to push for not only its completion, but for a separate Bristol-Waterbury commuter rail line.

Malloy says the $567  million project will create jobs,  since it is ready to go with 80% federal funding and a committment from the Federal Transit Administration.

In his announcement, Malloy acknowledges “it may not be a perfect project,”  but calls it the first step in creating a comprehensive multimodal transportation system in central Connecticut.”
