One Dead In Pool Hall Shooting

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) _ One man has died and two people have been hospitalized with gunshot wounds after an early morning shooting at a Bridgeport pool hall.

Police say a customer at L & A Billiards was thrown out of the facility several times before finally returning with a handgun at about 2:15 a.m. Friday. The gunman fired from the street outside into the interior of the pool hall, striking three people.

The victim was hit in the head and pronounced dead at the scene. Police identified him as 32-year-old Carlos Broadnax, whose last known address was in Bridgeport.

The other victims suffered wounds not considered life-threatening. They were identified as 28-year-old Joseph Small and 28-year-old Candace Philips.

There have been no arrests and police are appealing to the public for help in finding the shooter.
