Body Found In State Park

NORTH HAVEN, Conn. (AP) – Connecticut state police have launched an investigation after a man’s body was found at Wharton Brook State Park in North Haven.

Authorities say the body was discovered inside an SUV in a parking lot near the Wallingford line shortly after 7 a.m. Tuesday by a woman who was walking her dog.

State police Lt. J. Paul Vance says there are signs of trauma and authorities are treating it as a suspicious death. He says officials have tentatively identified the man, who was in his early 40s.

Troopers combed the vehicle and the surrounding area for evidence. No other details have been released.

The park includes walking trails and areas for picnicking, swimming and fishing.
