The Atlanta Tipoff Club has named UConn junior guard Kemba Walker one of four finalists for the Naismith Men’s College Player of the Year Award.
Walker led the Huskies to the Big East Tournament Championship, winning five games in five days while scoring 130 points. He was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player.
For the season, Walker is averaging 23.6 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game. He is only one of three players in the country to average over 20 points, five boards and four assists per game.
Walker has already been named a member of the All-Big East team and is a finalist for several other major awards including: the Wooden Award, the Oscar Robinson Trophy and the Bob Cousy Award.
